The Dance Movement offers 2 competitive teams: Squad and Company!

TDM is excited to announce that we will be providing two (2) options for our Competitive Team during our 10th Anniversary Season!

The Squad is a brand-new competitive team option for our dancers. It is geared toward the dancer who loves to perform and train, but might still have other interests outside of dance. The Squad will receive the same level of training as our sister team, Company, just at a lower time commitment level. The Squad will train in the genre(s) that compliment their routine styles with our professional faculty. Dancers are required to participate in at least one (1) group dance. Rehearsals for group dances will take place weekly (Mon-Thurs, TBD). Each routine will receive 30 mins of rehearsal time weekly or bi- weekly. Squad members will compete at three (3) competitions. All solos, duos/trios for Squad dancers will be eligible to compete at these three (3) events. All Squad dancers will have the option to train in additional styles, as well as the option to attend convention workshop classes.

Our other more intensive option for highly competitive dancers is our TDM Company. Company at TDM is designed for the more serious dancer. It is meant to be the dancer's first extra-curricular commitment, and consistent training and rehearsing makes the team better as a whole.

Audition info!

Auditions will be held at TDM on May 19th, $40 audition fee (cash or check)

ages:

9am-10am 4-7 years old

10:30am-12:00pm 8-10 years old

12:30pm-2:30pm 11-12 years old

3:00pm-4:30pm 13+ years old

*** If you are unable to audition in person, please email TDM. We will require that you send in a video that includes: a single/double pirouette, right and left split, right and left leg hold, grande jet on each side, 45 sec of jazz improv (8-8 counts). Please submit by 5/17 at 9 am

What: Squad and Company Auditions

Date: Sunday, May 19th
What to wear: Dancers can be in any dance attire that makes them feel comfortable and amazing! Hair should be slicked back and out of their face. Dancers need to bring ballet shoes for the ballet portion and jazz shoes, pirouettes or barefeet can be worn for the other portion of their audition.
What to bring: Dancers need to bring a 5x7 recent headshot (this can be colored or black and white) and a water bottle.
At time of check-in, dancers will sign in and receive a number. On the check-in sheet you will need to indicate the following; what team you're auditioning for, Squad or Company. If you want to be considered for a solo, duo or trio. If you are interested in attending Nationals (not required) in the Summer of 2025.
Results of auditions will be posted on our website by 5pm on Monday, May 20th. We announce our teams by numbers worn on audition day, so make sure your dancers remember what number they had. You can find those results on our website at www.thedancemovement.net
