TDM INFORMATION / STUDIO POLICIES
It is our mission to provide proper technical training to dancers of all ages and abilities in the most positive and loving environment. We strive to educate our dancers in almost all disciplines of dance through ongoing technique-based training in a supportive, educational, fun and inclusive environment. It is our goal to foster a love and appreciation for dance for students of all ages and levels, while supporting our dancers to love and appreciate themselves and others. What sets TDM apart from other competitive/recreational studios is our commitment to superior foundational training, an emphasis on proper technique, providing class instruction by industry-leading faculty members, ensuring a safe and positive space, our award-winning choreography and performance experiences, and how we develop an appreciation for the art of dance in a healthy, family-oriented environment. We believe that mental health and physical health are equally as important, and it is our job to foster both. We can’t wait to dance with you this season!

Weather Closures:
The Dance Movement follows SVVSD for school weather closures. When SVVSD is closed DUE TO WEATHER, The Dance Movement will also be closed. If SVVSD has a “remote learning” day, TDM will likely be closed.
If SVVSD is NOT closed, but The Dance Movement feels it is unsafe for dancers and staff to travel, we will let you know no later than 2pm for classes starting at 4:00/4:30pm, or 8am for morning classes. In most cases, families will receive an email informing them of the closure. Please also check the website or The Dance Movement Facebook/Instagram page for confirmation. The safety of our Staff and Dancers is always our priority!
No refunds or make-up classes will be issued for weather closures.
TDM’s Make-up Class Policy:
The Dance Movement does not allow make-ups or refunds for dancer absences due to illness, travel, weather closures, etc. Many of our classes are full and the integrity of the class instruction is affected, as well as the safety of dancers when the class size is too large. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
TDM’s Tardy / Pick-up / Drop-off Policy:
We are unable to take responsibility for our students before or after their scheduled classes and it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure their child is picked up and dropped off in a timely manner (within 10 minutes of the class start / end time). In the case of an emergency or unavoidable delay, please contact the studio immediately to inform us of the situation so we can keep your child calm and safe until they can be collected.
If a dancer is more than 15 minutes late, they may be asked to observe the remainder of the class. The first 15 minutes of each class is dedicated to warm-ups, and if a dancer does not warm-up properly, there is a risk of injury.
A class will never be modified or extended to accommodate a dancer that is tardy, nor will refunds be offered.
If a dancer/dancers in the class are more than 20 minutes late, and class attendance is less than 2 dancers, the teacher reserves the right to cancel class. Refunds will not be offered to tardy dancers.
Dancers must be picked up promptly after class ends and should not arrive more than 10 minutes early without parent supervision.
TDM’s Dress Code Policy:
Ballet: All dancers must wear a leotard (any color), pink tights and ballet shoes. Students must have their hair pulled back into a bun or a low pony-tail if their hair is too short for a bun. This is mandatory for all dancers. If dancers do not arrive to ballet class with the appropriate attire / hair, they will not be allowed to participate in the class.
Hip Hop: Please ensure your dancer has some sort of athletic shoes for hip hop classes.
Please see our “Class Description / Dress Code” page for more information.
TDM’s Lost and Found Policy:
All items left at the studio will be placed in the Lost & Found cubbies in the dancer lounge. On the 30th of each month, TDM will donate any left over items.
TDM is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Tuition will be automatically charged on the first of each month to the credit card on file.
TDM runs on a calendar month, which means that the tuition remains the same whether there are 3, 4, or 5 classes in that month.
Late tuition payments will incur an additional fee of $35 every three (3) days that the payment is past due.
Families with more than one (1) dancer enrolled will receive a 10% discount on tuition for each dancer after the first full price child is paid. Please note this only applies to direct siblings. This applies to both our regular season and our weekly summer class season.
Once registered in a class, the student remains registered indefinitely for the season (August - May) until the parents or guardian chooses to WITHDRAW the student. If you decide to WITHDRAW, you must send notice via email before the 1st of the month in order to not be charged that month’s tuition fee. You will be charged monthly dues unless and until a withdrawal email is submitted. We do not provide refunds for withdrawals if the notice occurs after the first of the month.
Drop-in fees ($20 per class for the regular season / $30 for summer classes) will be applied to the credit card on file prior to the class start time.
A non-refundable registration fee of $35 is due when registering.
Make-up classes are not offered due to class capacity restrictions.
Spring and Winter Showcase Recital Fees and Costume Fees for the Recital will be applied to the credit card on file. It is not obligatory for dancers to participate in the Recital.
Parents who arrive more than 10 minutes after the end of a class to pick up their dancer(s) will incur a $20 charge.
Private solo / duo / trio cleaning lessons must be paid to the Instructor at the time of the lesson ($35).
Tuition for weekly summer classes will be charged via a one-time payment to the credit card on file on June 15-16, 2026. Summer classes are not pro-rated, and make-up days are not provided should your dancer not be able to attend their regularly scheduled class. Free trial classes are not available in the summer. Summer drop-in rates are $30 per class.
Tuition for summer camps will be charged via a one-time payment at the time of registration to the credit card on file. Summer camps are not pro-rated and makeup days are unavailable should your camper not be able to attend.
